REGISTERED ONSITE WASTEWATER PRACTITIONER
The design of a system for your property requires site visits, soil testing, an assessment of the building occupancy and use, and the creation of a site plan.
In the planning process of your system, we will:
-Evaluate the soil conditions of your property.
-Take soil samples for lab tests.
-Test your soil permeability.
-Determine the grade of the slope.
-Evaluate the number of factors related to the building structure and occupancy.
-Determine setbacks to property lines, wells, lakes and other factors required for the design of your system.
-Determine the area available for dispersal and receiving areas.
-After completing the tasks above, we will select one or more feasible systems. We always start from the simplest system and work from there.
-If two or more systems of similar estimated cost are feasible, we will contact you to discuss your options.
-We prepare the site and soil evaluation report, draw the plans and write the specifications of your system.
The cost of the design is divided between site assessment and preparation of plans and specifications.
The first part involves taking our excavator to your lot, excavating test pits and performing permeability tests.
The second part involves analyzing soil samples and other available data, selecting the best-suited system and preparing drawings, specifications and other filing documents required by Interior Health.
